Frequently Asked Questions

  • Parents often reach out when they notice things like:

    • speech that is difficult to understand
    • delayed language development
    • trouble following directions or expressing ideas
    • limited communication attempts in young children
    • frustration when trying to communicate
    • feeding or swallowing challenges

If you have concerns about your child’s communication or development, a consultation can help determine whether speech therapy or an evaluation may be helpful.

  • Flourish Therapy Collective provides pediatric speech-language therapy services for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-aged children. Services support a wide range of communication and feeding needs.

If you’re unsure whether therapy may be helpful for your child, a consultation is a great place to start.

  • The first step is scheduling a free 15-minute parent consultation.

During this call we will discuss your concerns, ask a few background questions, and talk through possible next steps. Depending on your child’s needs, those next steps may include beginning therapy sessions, completing an evaluation, or providing guidance and resources.

  • The first session is focused on getting to know your child and understanding their communication strengths and needs.

During the first visit we may:

    • observe how your child communicates during play or conversation
    • ask additional questions about development and family concerns
    • begin informal assessment activities
    • discuss therapy goals and recommendations with caregivers

Our goal is to create a comfortable environment while gathering information that helps guide therapy.

  • Flourish Therapy Collective primarily offers virtual speech-language therapy (teletherapy). Teletherapy allows children to participate in therapy from home while still receiving individualized support from a licensed speech-language pathologist.

Teletherapy services are available to families throughout Kentucky.

As the practice grows, limited in-person services within the Bowling Green area may become available.

  • Sessions are typically 30 minutes in length. This session length supports engagement and allows children to participate comfortably in virtual therapy.

Session recommendations may vary depending on your child’s needs, goals, and ability to participate. These recommendations will be discussed during the consultation or first session.

  • Therapy frequency is individualized based on the child’s communication needs, goals, and family schedule.

Many children attend therapy once or twice per week, though recommendations may vary.

  • The length of therapy varies from child to child. Some children benefit from short-term support, while others participate in therapy for a longer period of time.

Progress is regularly monitored, and therapy plans are adjusted as your child develops new skills.
